Research Chemist / Scientist

Polymer Innovation & Product Development — Reporting to the R&D Director

Ghana Full-Time BSc / MSc Required 0–5+ Years Experience

You'll combine hands-on laboratory research, experimental design, data analysis, and scientific communication to transform polymer chemistry concepts into commercially viable products. You'll play a key role in developing new technologies and expanding Elrisa's product portfolio — seeing your work go from bench to real industrial use.

  • Lead and contribute to the development of petroleum-based and bio-based resin technologies for industrial applications.
  • Design, execute, analyze, and document laboratory experiments with strong scientific rigor and attention to detail.
  • Develop, optimize, and validate new formulations, test methods, and experimental approaches aligned with business objectives.
  • Interpret experimental results and provide technical recommendations to support product development and commercialization.
  • Prepare and communicate scientific findings through technical reports, presentations, training sessions, and industry conferences.
  • Write, maintain, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and laboratory documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams — R&D, manufacturing, quality, and commercial.
  • Contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment while adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 0–5+ years of experience in polymer synthesis, formulation, characterization, or application development.
  • Strong understanding of polymer chemistry and structure–property relationships.

Preferred Experience (any of the following is a plus)

Hands-on involvement in research from concept through commercialization
